Excused Absence?????

Yes, I know.
I've been absent.
No excuse, really, but
I've been a little down.
Change is a good thing,
but this one threw me.

WARNING
Long Post Follows

When I was a young teen, my parents moved the family to a small rural town.
Coming from the city, I did not fit in.
The public library became my friend.
I spent hours and hours in a comfy, overstuffed chair reading.

As an adult, I have moved many times,
each time, I quickly found the public library.
Libraries = solace in a strange world.

Twelve years ago, we moved to Glendale, AZ
And as has been my habit, I found the library immediately.
To my amazement, not only did I find comfort in the stacks,
but I found a group of aspiring writers.
People just like me.

For more than twenty-five years, twice a month they've come together
for twelve years they've allowed me to be a part of their group
We have spilled our hearts on paper,
told our tales, written our poetry and shared joys and sorrows.

Due to budget cuts,
our public library has decided to no longer sponsor our writer's group.
SOOOOOOO
For the last several weeks we've been searching for a new place

Happily, I believe the search is over.
I think we've found a new home.
A library in Surprise, AZ has opened its arms
and are welcoming us. :)

Also, I should confess
when I'm a bit down
I clean and clean and clean some more
so, all the cupboards and closets have been thinned and organized.
I've moved the furniture.
Did a little sewing.
Have I mentioned that I organized - everything!!!!
All in all,
Life is good again - and clean.

Have a great week all.
I'm going to.

Happy Father's Day

I wish my father and my father-in-law a
Happy Father's Day

But especially my honey.

  He's a good father,
Teaching his children all the important things in life.

And a good grandfather.
Someone you can talk to.

He's a great friend.
He's got a great sense of humor.

He's is so fun to be with.

Happy Father's Day!

I love you!

Pink Saturday!

How Sweet The Sound. Pink Saturday

I'm joining Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday!

I'm a bath girl,
a big bath girl,
and a pink girl too.

This is my most favorite bubble bath for summer!

As you can tell.

Stop by and visit Heidi at Foxgloves, Fabric and Folly.
She's displaying some very sweet vintage floral hankies.

Creativity Boot Camp

I know, three posts in one day
well that's because I played hooky all weekend
and eventually you have to pay.
Also, today's challenge
was, are you ready
drizzle.
And I thought some of the others were difficult.
I looked it up in the dictionary:
To rain gently in fine, mist-like drops.
1. To let fall in fine drops or particles.
2. To moisten with fine drops:
Did I mention that I live in Arizona?
This is as close to drizzle as we get.

A thank you to hubby for helping me.
Yes, I know most of you would not consider this drizzle.
Yet, they will fall gently
And they do moisten the skin.

Perhaps this is why we live in a place where it's over a 100 degrees regularly.
So we can experience drizzle.

Not my most creative post. Sorry.

Tomorrow my creative brain will be active again.

Creativity Boot Camp Day 7

My assignment was Ornament
Easy huh.
No, not really.
I searched and searched for just the right subject.
And finally decided on this.

I'm so very happy how the image turned out.

Creativity Boot Camp Day 6

Yes, I know I'm behind a bit.

That's why, I too must fly.

Pink Saturday

This is my first official Pink Post
And I almost missed it!
I apologize.
I had difficulty figuring out what day it was.
And there has been a lot going on.
I'm sure I'll be blogging about it later today.
But. . . to move on . . .
Instead of feeling pink today . . .
I'm a bit blue.
So here is my post,
Mostly blue with a pink accent.
But it's a great accent right?
Right!
Love you all, will be visiting you later.

Creativity Boot Camp Day 6

Day 6
Fluid

So I've been staying up later
to get the next prompt before I go to bed.
(I'm one of those who does my best thinking
asleep!)
And I had ideas when I went to bed,
but this is what I came up with this morning.
What do you think?
My fluid life:
Yesterday

Drive through flowers

And a "snatched and grabbed" iced tea.
Oh, and a whole lot of miles.
Fluid.

Days 4 & 5, I meant to do better.

Day 4
Heavy Metal
I did my journal work
and took my photo
and . . .
forgot my cable to download pics.
DRAT!
So here it is . . .
Better late?

 So then . . .
Today's assignment is . . .
Grow!
Grow!
um, grow?
I sneaked a peek at what the rest of the ladies were thinking
you should check them out
click on the link on my sidebar to
Creativity Boot Camp
Yeah, and still I didn't know what to photograph.
I had great ideas,
but none that I could put together.
So, by default:

Grow - the art of graceful aging.

Have a great day!
Happy Friday tomorrow!

Day 3, Creativity Boot Camp

Yesterday's prompt was picnic.
And I thought it was challenging.
Today's is
are you ready?
Multilayered.
Yep.
Multilayered
Huh?
So I put on my thinking cap,
really, just wandered around
and tried to figure out what to photograph besides a sandwich.
The program, (the link is on the side of my blog and in previous posts)
urges you to be creative.
So, creative it is.
Here is my ode to multilayered
My laundry that is awaiting the iron.

Multilayered, right?
It's not much to look at.
But then I did this . . .

I'm really having fun!
Can't wait to hear what the next assignment is.
Now I'm going to head over to Boot Camp Headquarters
and read what all the other creatives are doing.

Lesson 2, Creativity Boot Camp

Whew!

And I'm already learning new things.

Ohhh, texture.
I'm so excited.
Can't wait for day 3.

Mission (Almost) Accomplished

So today is the start of Creativity Boot Camp.

First assignment:
Write a letter.
Okay, this is the almost accomplished part.
Have no fear, I will write.
Let's be honest, I'm always writing.

Second assignment:
Ivory!

So I went a looking:

I saw the ivory of the sun on the wall outside.
hmmm - no

The ivory hammock swing?
I liked the textures, but
no.

An ivory path?
Please let me know if I'm blathering.
No.

Out of the corner of my eye
I saw
something ivory drift to the ground

Now where. . .?

Then I found her twin.

But I always take floral shots.
So inside I went.
Ivory, ivory, ivory
There was the doily I'm working on.

And then I knew.
Just like that.

Can you believe it?
The only rocks I own with words say:

Creativity
Inspiration
Clarity
and
Gratitude.

Yes!
(a small little chuckle here.)
Now on to the letter.
Don't worry, when I'm done I know exactly where to put it.

Here:

Where I stash my goals and dreams each year.

And I will close it and wait till tomorrow.
For my next awesome assignment!

Sunday Salutations!

Have a great day,
and an even better week.
I feel frilly, oh so frilly!

Heading over to Creativity Boot Camp for Day 1

Saturday

Hello all,
It's hard to believe it's Saturday again.
Where does the time go?
I wanted to participate in Pink Saturday this week,
But . . .
In any event, here is my toast to pink -
pink skies.
Oh, and . . .

Pink tongues

Don't tell my daughter I let her lick me.
I love Autumn's tongue!
Sometimes she lies on her back and the tip sticks out,
and it's just the cutest thing ever!
Have a great Saturday all!

Missing

For whatever reason
the summer comes
and I know it's technically spring
but in Arizona it's been summer for a while now,
anyway,
summer comes and I miss the water
really miss it.
Today all I can think about is the ocean.
Must be because I'm in California.

And I'm heading to San Diego today.
Where you can see these.

And these,

If you aren't working.
Which is what I'll be doing.
Dang!
Have a great June 1st everyone!
